Situated next to the Maoluo River in Nantou City, the Nantou Winery is famed for its wines; it also procures fruits from all over Taiwan and produces a variety of fruit wines. Tastings of various wines are available for tourists at the winery. The 4th Saturday of March each year has been designated as the Nantou Winery Fruit Wine Festival, with activities such carnivals, product tasting, promotion and folk performances etc. in order to stimulate the Nantou tourism industry. This is the only winery producing fruit wines under the ownership of the Taiwan Tobacco & Liquor Corporation.
