大武鄉，南迴進入臺東的第一塊平地，山與海的分界，自古以來有「臺東門戶」之稱。外海有著世界著名的漁場，大量的深海魚類在此洄游棲息，漁獲以油帶魚、鬼頭刀最為著名；農特產品玉荷包因肉質甜美鮮嫩，廣受旅人喜愛。
As the first flatland in Taitung on the South Link Line and the boundary between the mountain and the sea, Dawu Township is also called the Gateway to Taitung since ancient times. In the world famous fishing grounds located in the outer sea, lots of deep-water fish migrate and inhabit there, with the largehead hairtail (Trichiurus lepturus) and the common dolphinfish (Coryphaena hippurus) being the most distinctive species. The agricultural specialty yuhebao litchi (Litchi chinensis Sonn) is the favorite of travelers.
台東に南側から回り込むと最初に広がる平野、大武郷。山と海の境い目で、古くから「台東の入り口」と呼ばれています。外海には世界的に有名な漁場があり、多くの深海魚などが回遊、生息しています。主にタチウオやシイラが水揚げされ、特産品ではみずみずしく甘い玉荷包(ライチの品種）が観光客に喜ばれています。
