泰安服務區是所有服務區中最靠近都會區的服務區，整體設計以都會風情為主加入爵士風情，室內重空間及色調規劃，室外則重延伸於戶外的木平台。除各式餐飲服務，提供完備的特色名產，包括台中最有名的太陽餅、芋頭酥、奶油酥等小吃及美味的和果子，方便旅客購足，無須繞道至台中市區。

Of all the freeway service areas, the Taian Service Area is the one closest to a major metropolis. Its urban-inspired design places emphasis on spatial layout and the use of color, and adds a twist of jazz elements. A large outdoor wooden deck extends from the building. In addition to different types of restaurants, the Taian Service Area offers all sorts of traditional Taiwanese prepared desserts, such as Taichung’s famous sun cakes, taro cakes, and butter cakes, and delicious Japanese confections for the convenience of motorists so that they don’t have to specifically make a detour into Taichung City to purchase souvenirs.
