外澳海灘又被稱為港澳海灘或港澳沙灘，位於當年船隻雲集的烏石港之外，因此稱為外澳。外澳海灘在烏石港的北面，擁有廣大平坦而乾淨的沙灘，一波波潔白的浪花打上岸來，隱約可見遠方的龜山島，是親子戲水與衝浪客喜歡的海域。
Wai'ao Beach is also known as the Gang'ao Beach. It is located outside of Wushi Harbor, where large amounts of fishing boats used to gather, hence the name "Wai'ao". The beach is located just north of Wushi Harbor and has a large, flat and clean sandy beach. The waves hit the shore here creating white ripples, and Guishan Island /Turtle Island can be seen in the distance, making it a popular recreational area for families and surfers.

本區水域有潛在危險裂流，已公告為香蕉船活動區，請勿從事游泳、衝浪等其他水域遊憩活動。每年11月1日至隔年4月30日期間，全區水域關閉，無救生員駐守，海域風浪海流變化危險，請勿涉險靠近海邊觀浪或從事戲水、游泳、衝浪等活動，以免溺水傷亡。
