這裡與大地共生、與自然融合。除了建築本體設計和週邊環境渾然天成外，保留了烏石港濕地遺址，成為豐富水生植物的庇護站，館內的常設展主題也結合建築特色，由上而下分別設立山之層、平原層、海之層及時光廊，走一回可認識蘭陽地理風貌、自然生態及人文的軌跡。
The building integrates into its nature environment. In addition to the blending of the building with its surroundings, the remains of the Wushi Harbor Wetland have been preserved as a shelter for rich aquatic plants. The permanent exhibition themes inside the museum also integrate perfectly with its architectural features, with the Mountains, the Plains, the Sea, and a Time Gallery set up from top to bottom, allowing visitors to learn about Lanyang's geography, natural ecology, and human development in Yilan.
