相傳約在西元1673年先民渡海來台時，為了求航海平安帶著李府千歲神像同行，平安來到此處定居之後蓋了三間草寮繼續祀奉李府千歲神像，也才有今日三寮灣的地名，後來興建廟宇名為慈安宮廟，1945年時又從屏東東港東隆宮請來溫府千歲進駐廟宇同享香火濟世黎民，也在此時改名為東隆宮沿用至今，也有每三年一次的王船祭典，目前廟內祭祀兩艘永遠駐廟的王船，一艘為木船一艘為銅船，都很值得一看。
According to legend, when the forefathers crossed the sea to Taiwan in 1673, they brought the statue of Li Wangye with them in order to have a safe voyage. After settling here, they built three grass huts and continued to worship him, which gave rise to the name of Sanliao Bay today. The temple was later renamed Donglong Temple. The King's Boat Festival is held here once every three years.
