位於七股潟湖西側的濱海沙洲，因臺南沿海海岸陸棚平緩，加上出海河川輸沙量大，在河流沖積、季風、潮汐及波浪的作用力下，於離岸及河口形成海埔地或沙洲。網仔寮沙洲中央是由木麻黃為主構成的防風林，黃昏時常可看見棲息於樹林頂端的鷺科集結歸來；退潮時則可在灘地上觀察到成群出來覓食的和尚蟹。沿著木棧道往西穿過樹林後，是一望無際的臺灣海峽，生態環境豐富的沙洲，亦是觀察濱海植物與沙丘地形的極佳之處。
The Binhai Sandbank located on the west side of the Qigu Lagoon is a sandbank formed at the mouth of the estuary due to the gentle land shelf, river, seasonal winds and tides. At dusk, you can often see herons perched on the mangroves and at low tide, you can observe the monk crabs coming out in groups to feed. It is an excellent place to observe the coastal plants and dune terrain.
