為國際級濕地，位於曾文溪出海口，北起頂頭額沙洲國聖燈塔(七股燈塔)、南堤堤防及七股海埔堤防，南至曾文溪南岸青草崙堤防，東以省道台17線(國姓大橋)為界，西側海域至等深線6公尺處，面積總計3,001公頃。
曾文溪發源於阿里山脈，主要支流為後堀溪、菜寮溪及官田溪。位於台灣西南部的曾文溪口，由於上游帶來豐富的營養鹽，成為一個各級生物群聚的棲息地。每年10月起，吸引黑面琵鷺自韓國等地飛來過冬。
It is a world-class wetland located at the mouth of the Zengwen River, with a total area of 3,001 hectares. The river originates from the Alishan Mountain Range and its main tributaries are the Houjue River, Tsailiao River and Guantian River. The mouth of the Zengwen River, is a habitat for various species. Every year from October, black-faced spoonbills migrate here from Korea and other places.
