大坪海岸是經歷數萬年海浪沖擊，形成的典型海蝕平台，甚至還有海蝕洞、豆腐岩等瑰麗又獨特的海蝕奇觀，讓人可悠閒的漫步欣賞絕美海景。春天時，這裡的石頭會覆蓋上一整片亮綠色的海藻，所以大坪海岸還有“綠寶石祕境”的美稱，一旁還可觀察潮間帶中的生態。這裡充滿變化，冬春季具有綠油油的藻田，夏秋季可以觀察海岸化石，春夏時則有豐富的潮間帶生物，平靜的海蝕平台延伸至海面成為一望無際的海景，眺望海平面上海鳥成群飛翔，浪花輕輕拍打岩壁陣陣濤聲呼喚，一年四季都有著不同的海濱感受。
